Community

We aim to build a multi-dimensional community that connects local companies and startup firms with educators and investors. At the same time, we aim to facilitate the formation of specialized communities for entrepreneurs at different stages or from different fields.

Goals in 2021:

• Attract start-up teams to register and form a community on our platform.

• Establish specialized communities and host meetups for members who are interested in similar fields, such as fin-tech, block-chain, AI, robotics, healthcare, biotechnology.

• Create and expand entrepreneurial interest groups to help members search for help and resources.

• Launch educational workshops to help members turn their ideas into products and businesses.

• Organize seminars to stimulate the rising of new ideas, such as introducing cutting-edge technologies and topics with the greatest potential.

Desired skills and experience:

• Event planning and organizing skills and/or experience.

• Communication, negotiation and networking skills.

• Multitasking: We will have many exciting events this year. Candidates are expected to have strong abilities to handle multiple tasks at the same time.

• Academic/professional background and connections: We prefer candidates with academic and/or industrial background and connections in related fields, such as fin-tech, block-chain, AI, robotics, healthcare, biotechnology, new materials, and energy.

• Startup experience: Previous startup experience is preferred but not required.

Position Description:

Event Management

We are looking for prolific and enthusiastic event organizers to propose and plan a series of entrepreneurial events to serve interdisciplinary communities in 2021. Our goal is to build and expand entrepreneurial communities in areas, such as fin-tech, block-chain, AI, robotics, healthcare, biotechnology. You will be responsible for proposing and planning events from end to end to serve entrepreneurial communities.

Responsibilities:

• Connect with startups and/or other resources to provide trending entrepreneurial topics.

• Propose events to the leadership team.

• Lead event planning from end to end, including marketing, operating and feedback collection.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong interests in areas, such as fin-tech, block-chain, AI, robotics, healthcare, biotechnology, new materials, and energy.

• Strong communication skills.

• Strong ability to think outside the box.

• Excel in time management and multitasking.

• Experience in event planning and organizing (preferred).

Community Liaison

Responsibilities:

• Manage and expand interest groups in areas, such as fin-tech, block-chain, AI, robotics, healthcare, biotechnology.

• Maintain and develop the MIT-CHIEF entrepreneurial database by connecting with existing and potential resources, such as leading educators, innovators, experts, incubators, accelerators, investors, research institutions.

• Seek for sponsorship as needed

• Excel in communication and negotiation.

• Strong background and network connections in areas, such as fin-tech, block-chain, AI, robotics, healthcare, biotechnology.

• Strong ability to build connections with entrepreneurial communities.

• Strong interests and skills in sharing entrepreneurship-related information.

• Experience in startup business (preferred).
